Udaipur is a city in the Western Indian state of Rajasthan with splendor, mesmerizing and magical settings. It was earlier the capital of the Mewar Kingdom, depicting royalty and magnificence of the city. Udaipur is also known as “The City of Lakes” and “The Venice of India”

Places To Visit In Udaipur

  1. Lake Palace

The Lake Palace was built on the Lake Pichola by Maharana Jagat Singh in 1734. It’s magnificence and grandeur resembles a fairy tale kingdom. Earlier it was a palace which has now been converted into a heritage hotel. The aesthetic handicrafts and intricate craftsmanship add to the beauty of the Lake Palace. Fountains, gardens, painted mirrors, pillared terraces are some of the highlights of the palace.

  1. City Palace

The City Palace is situated on the banks of Lake Pichola. It was built in the year 1559 by Maharana Udai Mirza Singh. The City Palace is further divided into 11 magnificent palaces which will leave you in a wow of its beauty comprising of detailed work in architecture and design. There is also a museum inside the palace featuring the finest Rajput elements of arts and culture. Hanging gardens, pavilions, terraces courtyards and huge rooms are some of the highlights of the palace.

  1. Saheliyon Ki Bari

Saheliyon Ki Bari, also known as “The Garden of Maidens” was constructed in the 18th century by Maharana Sangram Singh for the royal ladies. The garden was designed by the king himself, which he presented to his queen. The queen used to spend her leisure time in this garden, along with her maidens, hence the name. The mesmerizing view, fountains, marble elephants, lotus pool, flowerbed and bird-fountains are some of the highlights of the garden.

  1. Dudh Talai Musical Garden

Dudh Talai Musical Garden, also known as “Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Park” is a splendid rock garden in Duddhtalaii, Udaipur. It is built by Urban Development Trust of Udaipur. It is famous for its stunning and breath-taking views of sunset and Pichola Lake. The center of attraction is the musical fountain which adds to the beauty and charisma of the garden. No doubt, a perfect place for photoshoots.

  1. Bagore Ki Haveli

Bagore Ki Haveli was constructed in the 18th century by Amir Chand Badwa. The haveli was later converted into a museum possessing the royal touch to the building, presenting the culture of Mewar. It is famous for its architecture and photography. Musical and folk dance shows, theatre shows, puppetry shows, and the antique collection of the museum are the highlights of the place.

I am in love with the place already! Can’t wait to pack my bags and spend a full week’s vacation at Udaipur.
