Getting into IITs (Indian Institute of Technology), NITs (National Institute of Technology) and CFTIs (Centrally Funded Technical Institutions) just got easier.
The Central Seat Allocation Board has decided to relax its admission criteria on Thursday. Its decision to relax its eligibility criteria comes after the Joint Admission Board decided the same for the IITs.

IIT’s New Admission Criteria
Following the updated rules and criteria, the JEE (mains) qualifying candidates only need to secure passing marks in Class 12th examinations. For getting into IITs, a general category rank holder in JEE (Advanced) should have scored 75% in his/her Board results. An SC/ST candidate, on the other hand, should have scored at least 65% in their board exams.
Replacing this, the Joint Admission Board has decided to allow students with passing marks to appear for JEE (Advanced). The decision was announced by MHRD Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ in one of his tweets.

JEE Main 2020 qualified candidates will now only need to obtain a passing certificate in class XII examination irrespective of the marks obtained.

NITs & CFTIs New Admission Criteria | JEE Mains
Following the decision by the JAB, the CSAB decided to relax its rules as well. It decided that the JEE (main) candidates now need to secure the passing marks in class XII.

The JEE (mains) examination will now be conducted from September 1 to 6, whereas, JEE (advanced) which is conducted by the IITs, is scheduled to be held on September 27.
