Netflix is the world’s leading streaming application. It is a subscription-based platform where we can watch web series and movies. It’s an American based platform and headquartered at Los Gatos, California. The primary motive of the company is to stream movies, TV shows and web series. Netflix has around 195 million paid subscribers worldwide.
WHY NETFLIX IS SO POPULAR?
Netflix becomes more popular nowadays, some shows like 13 reasons why, Orange is the new black, breaking bad, etcetera, have been helping Netflix to grow fast. Around 190 countries all over the world have Netflix subscription.
REASON BEHIND #BOYCOTTNETFLIX
This all was started after streaming of web series; A Suitable Boy. This movie is based on Vikram Seth‘s novel published in 1993. It has been shown that Danish Razvi a Muslim boy plays the role of Kabir Durrani kissing Tanya Maniktala plays the role of Hindu girl Lata in the temple. Some people feel offensive and start boycotting this platform.
On November 22 Sunday morning, people started to have a part in the Twitter trend #boycottnetflix, as it gained so much reach and attention that it becomes number one trending hashtag India right now. Social media heads and BJP’s state IT initiates this trend, they were also urging many more people to support them and raise this issue by boycotting this platform. Now, most of the people started uninstalling Netflix application from their respective devices.
These series are all fictional and have no connection with human realism, so we should not take it in the wrong way as it is all for entertainment purposes.
This is the news which going worldwide on every social media, people are there for the protest. Let’s hope for the best. May the truth win with the least harm that can be causing to humans.
