GGSIPU Final Year Exams: All You Need To Know

The examination division of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University has released a notice regarding the conduction of final year/ final semester exams in pen and paper (offline) mode. The exams will be held at various centers at affiliated centers following the norms social distancing and other Govt. guidelines.

The end term examination will commence in the 4th week of September 2020 and the proposed datesheet will be uploaded on the University website on 11th September 2020, all students and other concerned are advised to take note and make preparation for the same.

The notice has been released in consonance with the orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India’s decision to uphold UGC’s guidelines of conducting exams for final year/ semester students.

As per the guidelines, it was made compulsory for all the universities to conduct final year exams this year by September end, as it is essential for the academic future of the students. The universities were given the option of conducting the final year exams in online, offline, or mixed mode, depending on the resources that the university and the students possess during the pandemic.

Since the release of the UGC guidelines regarding the exams, the students have been criticising the decision. Students from various universities have taken to Twitter to criticise the move. After the release of the guidelines, #StudentLivesMatter has been trending on Twitter.

According to data released by change.org more than 100 petitions have been filed by students since March to cancel various exams of colleges and Universities. 

Moreover, a survey conducted by IPU Buzz, in May reveals that over 91.9 % of students are against exams being conducted, out of which 24.6% of students cite being out of Delhi as their reason

Despite all this, the notice regarding the conduction of exams is out by the University. All students and other concerned are advised to take note and make preparation for the same. The proposed datesheet will be uploaded on the University website on 11th September 2020.
