Cancellation of CBSE class 12th board exams will surely affect the lives of students but will it have the same effect on IPU Admissions?
The uncertain conditions due to COVID-19 lead to the cancellation of the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 on June 1. Followed by this, the main concern which is bothering lakhs of CBSE Class 12th students across the country is the procedure of evaluation of their results and their admission to colleges. The students are concerned about the declaration of CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 as the CBSE has not yet announced any specific date for the declaration of CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 results.
Though the authorities haven’t decided the procedure for results, many university officials have surely issued their statements regarding the admissions.
Students’ Reaction and Universities’ Decision
Many students of Class 12 definitely welcome the decision but their tensions nevertheless remain the same as board examinations are absolutely different from pre-board exams and in case they get lower grades due to the evaluation. Also, they are worried about their college admission now.
The administration of JNU, DU, Ambedkar University, Jamia Millia Islamia, IP University, and other universities have stated about the admission process and cleared the doubts of many students.
All their decisions concerning the Class 12 exams were “pragmatic and rational” considering the fact that the Covid pandemic is a once-in-a-century occurrence. The health and safety of the students is been taken at the utmost priority and importance.
IPU Admissions: IPU Vice-chancellor’s Response and Clarification.
IP University vice-chancellor Mahesh Verma said the cancellation of the board exams will not impact the admission process because admissions are done through the online Common Entrance Test (CET).
“We just need the students to have passed their exams and that will make them eligible for the entrance exams. We give an opportunity to everybody. Earlier, we used to do it offline but since last year, we have started conducting it online. We have to see how we will conduct it this year and when will it happen,” he said.

This clearly helps students’ insecurities to fade. The statement clarifies that the cancellation of board exams won’t have any effect on admissions and IPU CET.
IPU Admissions: Brochure For UG, PG Courses
IP University has already released the admission brochure for the 2021-22 academic year. It is most likely that the university will still follow this procedure for admissions. The university will admit students to different undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programs based on merit, and entrance exams.
IPU Admissions: Is there still something to worry about?
The only doubt that still surfaces is when will the entrance exam take place, and will it be online or offline.
However, as the norm goes, there might not be much to worry about that too. As we saw the year before, the university’s decisions for CET were taken without any trouble. However, there surely was some delay. But all the procedures and formalities went smoothly in 2020 for CET.
Authorities of GGSIPU will surely try to put great efforts to make the process of admission go smoothly. With prioritizing the health and safety of students.
